fall 2011 menswear lust

when menswear collections show, i don't have the heart-jumping-out-of-my-chest reaction like i do during couture week (which is coming up, fyi. get ready), but this season is putting out some greatness!

Alexander McQueen:
werk the cape, boy!!!  totally german ss chic.

this is working for me. love the pant length, love the mix of colors and patterns.

Jean Paul Gaultier:

yes, that's a gun.

androgyny at it's best.  he's working that hair. i want that hair.

omg. the beard, the jacket, the micro-mini booty shorts, the dress shoes, the thigh gun/knife holster.  yes, yes, yes.

Mugler by Nicola Formichetti:

i'm not sure why i'm loving the plastic head capes, but i am.  it's a statement. dexter morgan would love it.

again, this is so dexter.  a chic butcher apron in black latex? all day, baby.

in all seriousness, this is beautifully tailored.  well done, formichetti

i love the pants! the puffy armor-esque detailing? geniussss.

p.s. for those who haven't seen it, check out the remix that gaga did for formichetti's Mugler debut.  the song is killer and the cinematography is stunning.

Rick Owens:
dear rick owens, does this skirt come in XXS?  please send to soho.  xx, moi

...just a few highlights of my morning, flipping through menswear shows on the iPad.
