style file - this week's highlights, what i wore

you guys have to forgive me for the lack of posts lately - things have been going at roughly 100 mph lately!  most notably - fashion week AND i'm 12.5 days away from taking my GRE (in preparation for grad school!) and i've been studying like a mad woman.  i know i'm probably over-doing it - since it's really not beyond 9th grade math (and i do have an engineering degree....that's like a bajillion semesters of math), but you know...fortune favors the prepared mind.

as a result - my outfits, admittedly, especially on the weekends, have been erring on the side of yoga pants.  please don't judge - 4 hour stretches of vocabulary words & math problems.... ugh.  but i've tried to keep it up during the week!

as if!  totally channeling Cher Horowitz.  didn't even drink coffee that day. i want to be 5'10", like Cindy Crawford. skirt, unknown (very old), long oxford, Target.  sweater, J.Crew. tights, Wolford. flats, J.Crew

so fashion week - right?  it was a week of very technical fabrics, and a lot of red, Asian (Year of the Dragon, perhaps?) influences.  lots of red, lots of Asian architecture in the clothes, a lot of knee high boots, and fur accents allll over the place.  also, the hemlines are still below the knee, which i think is surprisingly and refreshingly super sexy!  i actually particularly liked the seeming return of the "dandy" on the runway - the proper lady, even perhaps in a sharply tailored pantsuit a la Ralph Lauren.  lots of great artistry this week!  (the alien chic minimalism of Calvin Klein was a particular favorite..expect more later)

so it's almost March - spring is nearing (it doesn't even feel like winter ever arrived, right?) and so much is coming up.  like i said..GRE, then school applications, and then the waiting game. oy vey.  spring is always that time of rebirth - and i've been feeling it more than ever this year.  even my horoscope (whatever. astrologyzone.com is the best ever and i'm not ashamed. i love it) says this year will bring about things that will change the course of my life for at least the next 17 yeas - so it's hard not to feel that energy, you know?
